Former SC State Senator Joel Lourie Endorses Hamilton Grant
Grant receives first campaign endorsement from former SC State Senator Joel Lourie
Columbia, S.C. – Former South Carolina State Senator Joel Lourie has announced his endorsement of Democrat Hamilton Grant to represent Richland County Council’s 8th District.
"I have had the pleasure of watching Hamilton grow up to not only be a great community leader, but a great family man,” said Lourie. “Hamilton’s business background, passion for excellence and fresh perspective are all things needed to move Richland County forward.”
Grant is the President of Grant Business Advisors, LCC (GBA), which is owned by his father, Tony Grant. GBA is a financial and strategic advisory firm for non-profit organizations, small businesses, and middle-market companies.
“Hamilton is a man of integrity, and I know he will do the right thing when it comes to representing the citizens of District 8 and Richland County as a whole."
Grant’s platform aims to ensure that families in Richland County feel safe, while building infrastructure, conquering food insecurities and encouraging transparency when it comes to the county’s Penny Sales Tax. He has a proven track record of involvement in the City of Columbia, serving as the Co-Chair of the Famously Hot New Year’s Advisory Board and President of the Columbia Urban League’s Young Professionals.
Frm. Sen. Lourie is the first notable endorsement for the Grant campaign since he made his announcement in November. His declaration comes just weeks after longtime councilman Jim Manning announced his retirement.
