SC State Representative Ivory Thigpen Endorses Hamilton Grant
Columbia, S.C. – Hamilton Grant is proud to announce his second endorsement in his fight for County Council’s District 8 seat. South Carolina State Representative, Ivory Thigpen (D), has announced his support for Grant “It is my great pleasure to support Hamilton Grant for Richland County Council District 8,” said Rep. Thigpen.
“Hamilton is a young leader that I have had the chance to know and build a friendship with over the last few years. In the short time that I’ve known him, I’ve found him to be a very wise young man with a servant’s heart.”
He has a proven track record of being involved in the community. In the City of Columbia, he has served as the Co-Chair of the Famously Hot New Year’s Advisory Board. He also has a passion for connecting with and inspiriting the youth as he is a member of the South Carolina Young Democrats, a mentor of the Talented Tenth Young Professionals started by Mayor Steve Benjamin and served as President of the Columbia Urban League’s Young Professionals.
“As a proud product of Richland County District 8, I know that Hamilton will bring new, bold, and innovative ideas to our County Council that will prepare and sustain our County’s growth.” Thigpen said.
Grant’s platform aims to ensure that families in Richland County feel safe, while building infrastructure, conquering food insecurities and encouraging transparency when it comes to the county’s Penny Sales Tax.
This is Grant’s second endorsement for his campaign since he made his announcement in November. He received his first notable donation from Frm. Sen. Joel Lourie.
